Danny C. Gingerich
Daniel "Danny" C. Gingerich, the eleventh child of Chester H. and Mattie (Kaufman) Gingerich passed away at his home in Holt, Mo., on June 2, 2013. He was born in Indiana on December 4, 1943.
He leaves his loving family, wife of 48 years, Judy, of the home; a daughter, Pam, Kansas City, Mo.; and a son, Dean, St. Louis Mo.; brothers and sisters, Elizabeth (Menno) Mast, Wautoma, Wisc., Sarah (Eli) Burkholder, Sarasota, Fla., Joseph (Lydia) Gingerich, Jamesport, Mo., Naomi (Eli) Detweiler, Jamesport, Mo., Emma (Freeman) Detweiler, Charlotte, Mich., Katie Ann (Jake) Mast, Vermontville, Mich., Reuben (Rachel) Gingerich, Wakarusa, Ind., and Perry Gingerich, Bonner Springs, Kans. He also leaves his sister-in-laws, Susie (Connie) Walton and Francie (Jack) Toney, Gallatin, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary (Sam) Burkholder and Lydia Gingerich; brothers, Andrew (Anna) Gingerich, Eddie Gingerich, Albert Gingerich, Isaac (Rosie) Gingerich, and Chester (Linda) Gingerich.
Danny was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kearney, Mo. Danny retired from the General Motors Fairfax plant after 36.5 years of service in 2001. He worked on the assembly line, was the Financial Secretary/Treasurer for UAW Local 31, and worked for the UAW International Union in Health and Safety in Detroit, Mich. He was an avid golfer and follower of Kearney High School sports.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Kearney, Mo. Services will be Friday, June 7, 2013 at 10 a.m., also at the church. Burial in the Muddy Fork Cemetery, Holt, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Kearney United Methodist Youth Camp Fund.
