Scott McKinley

Scott Allen McKinley, 43, Lathrop, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009. Mr. McKinley was born Aug. 12, 1966, in Kansas City. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1985. He worked for the family company, Al McKinley Incorporated, as a bridge builder for more than 20 years. Since 2005, he and his sister co-owned McKinley’s LLC, a structural concrete/box culvert company.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Delores McKinley, in 1982. Survivors include his wife, Deborah K. McKinley; children, Chrissy, Ana and Robert; father and stepmother, Al and Patsy McKinley; brothers, Bill McKinley, Steve McKinley and Todd Logan; sister, Jill Logan Havenhill; and a grandson expected in January 2010.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Chandler Baptist Church in Liberty, where Mr. McKinley often helped clear snow from the parking lot and maintain the cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Kearney, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. A memorial fund for the maintenance and education of his children will be set up at Clay County Savings Bank, P.O. Box 228, Kearney, MO 64060.
